Elevators with reduced pits and headrooms

Replacing an elevator installed in the sixties can be a problem due to insufficience of the areas of refuge of the pit and of the headroom because, according to current regulations, the necessary measures have significantly increased compared to the past. The Del Bo Consortium proposes a solution to this problem: the ultimate elevator with reduced pit and /or headroom compliant with  EN 81.21, with the possibility of installation in pre-existing hoistways that are not  geometrically modifiable.

This allows significant cost savings, as structural interventions in the hoistway are not necessary.

The areas of refuge of the pit and headroom are ensured by an electromechanical device consisting of struts driven by electromagnets placed below and above the cabin.
